What is Maple Wood?

Maple wood is renowned for its strength, beauty, and ease of staining, offering numerous advantages. Its luminous, milky hue, uniform grain, and exceptional toughness make it a favorite among woodworkers and exotic wood dealers in India. Among the various types of maple trees worldwide, Hard Maple, also known as Sugar Maple or Rock Maple, is the most commonly used by American woodworkers.

Maple trees thrive in the temperate regions of the northern hemisphere, with over 200 species naturally present in Germany. They are often found in parks, gardens, and along roadways, either growing alone or in small clusters. Of the three main types of maple, the sycamore is the most prevalent in forests. According to top exotic wood dealers in India, the three primary categories of maple widely distributed in North America are sugar maple, hard maple, and sycamore maple. Particularly striking varieties of maple include quilt maple, burnt wood, birdseye maple, and flame maple. The heartwood and sapwood share a similar color and texture, ranging from white to yellowish-white, and gradually turning yellow.

You can purchase high-quality maple wood from PLANET EXPO, one of the best suppliers in India.

Workability

Both hand and machine tools can be used to work with soft maple rather easily, but due to the higher density of hard maple, it can be more challenging.

Sustainability

Maple trees absorb carbon from the atmosphere, making maple wood sustainable. Maple furniture also acts as a long-term carbon sink. Burning wood waste also generates energy, taking the place of fossil fuel. The best  maple wood suppliers said that it is possible to gather the timber without hurting the trees because of its abundance.
