What is White Ash Wood?

White ash is considered the finest species in North America, highly valued for its strength, hardness, excellent shock resistance, and exceptional bending properties. According to leading exotic wood dealers in India, it can be easily worked with both machinery and manual tools. This versatile wood is commonly used in plywood, paneling, veneer, high-end joinery, bats, oars, pool cues, tool handles, cabinetry, and various sporting goods.

In addition to North America, ash trees are found in Europe, Asia, and Africa. Known for its strength, lightweight nature, and attractive appearance, ash wood is also excellent at absorbing stains. It is currently a popular choice for home furnishings, especially in mid-century modern designs, due to its excellent shock resistance and workability. Ash has traditionally been an affordable and readily available wood from top exotic wood suppliers in India. The heartwood of ash ranges from light to medium brown, while the sapwood can vary widely in color, typically appearing beige or light brown.

Purchase high-quality white ash wood from Planet Expo, one of the best suppliers in India.

Workability

Ash is a relatively solid material with excellent working and finishing qualities. It is moderately hard in Janka terms. As a result, the paint, polish, screw, and nail are all securely held. accepts steam bending nicely, and is the most delivered product by exotic wood dealers in India.

Sustainability

The IUCN Red List includes this species of wood, despite it not being included in the CITES Appendices. If local populations can’t prevent illicit logging and implement sound forest management practices, they are classified “threatened,” which means they run the risk of going extinct.
