What is White Wood/Spruce Wood?

As per softwood dealers in India, spruce stands out as a lightweight, stable, rot-resistant, and cost-effective softwood option. It finds versatile applications in various projects and serves as a convenient building material due to its ease of handling with tools, attributed to its low hardness and lightweight nature.

Spruce emerges as a viable alternative to pine, boasting similar density and hardness levels. However, it's worth noting that both pine and spruce are more susceptible to dents and scratches compared to other timber varieties. Belonging to the Pinaceae family, spruce is an evergreen conifer renowned for its towering stature, with fully grown trees reaching impressive heights. Notably, the Sitka spruce holds the distinction of being the tallest species of spruce, towering between 250 and 300 feet in height.

Workability

The workability of Spruce is very good, according to soft wood suppliers in India. It holds nails well and is easy to saw, drill and plane. Can be dried easily both naturally and artificially, has no real tendency to warp or split and can be bonded without difficulty.

Sustainability

Spruce wood is environmentally friendly due to its carbon sequestration. Because of the fast growth and wide spread of spruce species, spruce timber can be harvested without harming the forest. Furthermore, transportation emissions are significantly lower than for imported wood, according to wood suppliers in India.
